ELMER BERNSTEIN GETS A BIRTHDAY PARTY

Las Vegas, Nevada - April 19, 2002:  That's right. Dennis Quaid. Mick Fleetwood. Elmer Bernstein. All in Vegas, for EAT'M. But back to Dennis for a moment. In the flesh. With his band, Dennis Quaid and the Sharks. Thursday, May 29, opening night at the fourth annual EAT'M convention. Party will be at the oh-so-fabulous Whiskey Sky Bar. We've got photos. Actually, we have one photo. Of Dennis. It's, well, it's Dennis. In glorious black and white. Want it? Email hoffman@solters.com

In the subject line say, "Gimme a glance."

This year's honorees are multi-Academy Award winning composer Elmer Bernstein (who will be celebrating his 80th birthday at EAT'M) and Fleetwood, Mac's MICK FLEETWOOD, who will also be moderating two mentor sessions at EAT'M about technologies he's using and developing for music producers, artists and songwriters. In addition, Mick will be doing a 30-minute "Industry Perspective," inclusive of Q&A. In order to dance to Dennis, pick Mick's brain and blow out the candles on Elmer's birthday cake, you need to register for EAT'M. May 29, 30, 31 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. http://www.eat-m.com. There are $200 registration rates to both unsigned artists and industry friends who have been "pink-slipped" in the past year, as well as a $125 registration rate for full or part-time students with current credentials.

What's EAT'M? Emerging Artists and Technology in Music (EAT'M) is a conference, showcase and festival which bridges the gap of educational trends and ideas between artists and professionals in the entertainment industry. EAT'M is attended and supported by industry professionals that represent all facets of the music business including labels, producers, managers, attorneys, technology, agents, promoters, songwriters, publishers and more. EAT'M is also a showcase opportunity for some of the best, unsigned talent around the world, with all formats of music welcomed.

Las Vegas, Nevada - April 3, 2002:  No, you’re not hallucinating. EAT’M founder and executive director Lisa Tenner and Pulver.com president and CEO, Jeff Pulver are offering $200 registration rates to both unsigned artists and industry friends who have been “pink-slipped” in the past year.

For more info, go to www.eat-m.com and click on the “Register” button.

Other EAT’M notes of note:

Panels – we got your panels.

A&R, producers, publishing, songwriting, marketing, touring, publicity, technology, artist development, soundtracks, radio, society and politics – if it touches music, it touches you and we’ve got the panel(s) to touch you all.

C.L.E: If you’re an attorney or just play one on TV, there’s nine credit’s worth of C.L.E (Continuing Legal Education). Seriously, if you are an attorney, you can pick up nine credits here (including Ethics) or if you want to learn more about the legal end of the music world, you’re invited to not only sit in, but ask questions (and it won’t cost you $350 an hour).

Mentor Sessions, Demo Critiquing Sessions: which side of the table do you sit on? If you’re an aspiring artist or someone who wants to get ahead in the music biz or perhaps someone who’s been around the block a few times, there’s a seat for you.

For more info, including who’s pontificating from the panelist view, go to www.eat-m.com and click on “Schedule.”

And then there’s lunch:

Honors Lunch: Multi-Academy Award-winning composer Elmer Bernstein and Mick Fleetwood, founder of legendary rock group Fleetwood Mac have been chosen as this year’s EAT’M Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees. Fleetwood will also be one of a select few delivering an Industry Perspective to EAT’M registrants, as well as scoping out the unsigned talent during the nightly EAT’M showcases around town. It’s all too apropos that the name of his record label is, well, Tallman Records. Do the math.

All work and no play makes us all psycho:

If you ever dreamed of being a rock star (oh fess up – you all did. It was blinding fear that drove you to a desk/a computer/a recording console/your workspace of choice here), support those who are still living out that dream. The nightly, artist, evening showcases at the MGM Grand, House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, New York-New York Hotel & Casino’s “Big Apple Bar,” Aladdin Hotel, Harley Davidson Cafe and oh yes, the Brooklyn Bridge located on the Vegas Strip on property at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino will feature the finest unsigned talent worthy of your very brief attention span.

In addition, the John Lennon Songwriting Bus will have a stage customized for singer/songwriter performances as well as their on-board state-of-the-art recording studio.

For more info, go to www.eat-m.com and click on “Performer List.”

Fore!”

If you walk tall or small and carry a Big Bertha, don’t forget the “Fourth Annual David Cassidy Celebrity Golf Tournament in Association with Schwing! Golf Magazine’s Duffing for Dollars.” Benefits multiple charities.

Respected members of the media (that’s most of you reading this):

Have you written up EAT’M yet? If so, thank you. More, please. If not, shame on you.

Regardless, contact us about media credentials. Lord knows why, but we want you there and will hang a complimentary laminate around your sweet little neck.

What was that date and locale again?

Glad you asked.

EAT'M,
NORTH AMERICA'S PREMIER MUSIC INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
SKED FOR MAY 29 - 31 IN LAS VEGAS

Panel Line-ups Announced Artist Submissions in Full Swing

Las Vegas, Nevada - October 9, 2001: The initial blueprint for the fourth annual EAT'M conference was announced today by both Lisa Tenner, founder and executive director and Dave Bard, Operations Manager of EAT'M (Emerging Artists and Technology in Music).

EAT'M, scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2002 through Friday evening, May 31, 2002 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will address all genres of music, incorporating moderated panels, expanded mentoring discussions, marathon demo critiquing sessions, industry perspectives, CLE (Continuing Legal Education) and artist showcases.

Tenner stated, "We listened to attendees from years past and have structured our next EAT'M to reflect their suggestions. This is truly the one place where all activities are opportunities for anyone interested in a career in the music business to hear about it from the best in the music business."

An EAT'M tradition includes evening artist showcases, an opportunity for the best, unsigned musical talent to expose themselves to an industry crowd. Artist submission information is available at http://www.eat-m.com. All entries must be postmarked no later than February 15, 2002. Artists in all genres of music are encouraged to submit their craft for showcase consideration.

Artist evening showcase stages confirmed to-date include New York, New York's Empire Bar and Brooklyn Bridge (which overlooks the famed Las Vegas Strip), three stages at the House of Blues and the John Lennon Songwriting Bus stage customized for singer/songwriter performances. New for this year will be the additional opportunity for singer/songwriters registered for EAT'M to perform impromptu sessions in-between morning and afternoon panels in high-traffic locations on the same floor as EAT'M panels.

Maverick recording artist Michelle Branch is one of many artists who cut their teeth at EAT'M. "That's where my buzz really got started! It's great because at night you get to showcase your talent then go see other acts and hang out with them. During the day you can go to tons of informational panels. And it's the panels that make EAT'M so important for someone just getting started." Others who got their careers kick-started at EAT'M include Slipknot, Alien Ant Farm and Papa Roach.

New this year will be "Industry Perspectives, " 30-minute sessions scheduled throughout the three days. A 15-minute speaker session given by leaders in the music/entertainment/Internet industries will be followed with 15-minute Q&A's.

Back by popular demand with expanded sessions will be Mentor Sessions; a total of 54 controlled, roundtable discussions whereby those attendees interested in specific fields in the music business will have an opportunity to speak directly with an industry professional from that respective field.

These sessions will culminate with the Producer's Panel on Friday, May 31, moderated by legendary producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Nine Inch Nails, 30 Seconds to Mars, Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed).

This year's moderated panels will cover many of the music business basics of A&R, music publishing, marketing, touring, publicity and more with quite a few new surprises thrown into the mix. Moderators and panelist announcements will be announced shortly. The popular Artist Panel will be Wednesday's General Session spotlight. As always, this one promises to get EAT'M off to a rousing start. The majority of the artists involved in the Artist Panel, along with many more, will be participating in the annual EAT'M charity golf and poker tourney. Details are forthcoming.

EAT'M executive producer Jeff Pulver summarized next year's event. "EAT'M is about the future of the music business. Just as importantly, it's an opportunity for those of us fortunate enough to be in the business to give something back."

EAT'M RETURNS FOR YEAR NUMBER FOUR
NORTH AMERICA'S PREMIER MUSIC INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
SKED FOR MAY 29 - 31
Unsigned Artist Submissions Officially Begin August 1, 2001

Las Vegas, Nevada August 1, 2001: Lisa Tenner, founder and executive director of EAT'M, today announced May 29, 30 and 31, 2002 have been targeted for the fourth, annual EAT'M conference.

Originally an acronym for Emerging Artists & Technology in Music, the conference will now stand for Emerging Artists & Technology in Music, thanks in part to new partners, pulver.com (http://pulver.com), a New-York based company that builds community for the IP communications industry through global conferences and newsletters. Pulver.com has begun to build an epicenter for the world of music through pulverradio.com, the first B2B 24x7, Internet-based, rock-oriented radio station with Internet/Telecom content; RevUp Records and pulverMusic Publishing.

What began as Tenner's vision of promoting unsigned bands, individual performers and songwriters, and making music industry executives mentors for those wanting to break into the biz, has become the one and only conference encompassing all facets of the music industry. Behind the desk to the front of the stage will be covered at the three-day event including A&R, songwriting and publishing, record contracts, artist management, concert promotion, agency representation, marketing, digital delivery, promotion and more through panels, industry perspectives and mentor sessions.

Tenner stated industry reaction has already been overwhelming. Our sponsors are back on board and determined to make EAT'M a household name among artists.

The return of the conference is also being well-received thanks to the official launch today of the now-famous artist showcase submissions. As in previous years, artists in all categories of music are encouraged to submit their CD or cassette prior to the January 15, 2002 absolute final deadline. Application fees vary depending on when artist packages are sent and all artists will be notified of selections no later than February 28, 2002. An important addition for EAT'M 2002 will be all performers selected will receive full, complimentary registrations. Artists discovered at EAT'M include Michelle Branch, Slipknot, Papa Roach, Choice of Reign, LoBall, Lefty and more. For complete details on artist submissions, log on to http://www.eat-m.com.

EAT'M/2 August 1, 2001

Demand has dictated two other important additions to EAT'M 2002. The majority of all showcases will take place at the actual event site and multiple industry perspectives will feature industry leaders speaking on a wide array of subjects, followed by Q & A sessions. Past speakers and honorees include such luminaries as Beatles producer George Martin, Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, award-winning songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman and Chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group, Jim Caparro.

This year's Expo hall will be twice as large as years passed, according to Tenner with all breakfasts and popular EAT'M panels such as the mentor sessions taking place within the walls of the Expo hall.

Returning for a fourth year will be the John Lennon Educational Tour bus, a state-of-the-art recording studio on wheels which will once again sponsor the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Confirmed moderators and panelists for EAT'M 2002 include EAT'M Co-Director Sue Shifrin-Cassidy for songwriters, acclaimed record producer Ross Robinson and Village Recorder's Jeff Greenberg for the record producers and for artist management, Concrete Management's Walter O'Brien and Freeze Management's John Reese. New for this year will be an artist panel and, by overwhelming demand, 10 AM start times for all panels.

As in years past, EAT'M's Emerging Artists Fund will assist a select group of conference attendees by waving the fee for their CD/tape submissions and/or covering their travel, hotel and registration to the conference. The Fund also encourages education in the field of recording arts and sciences through scholarships, grants and professional development stipends and is administered by the Nevada Community Foundation.

A Las-Vegas based host location for the event will be announced shortly.
